Hi, I’m Patricia Haywood
Legal Strategist. Boardroom Operator. The One Who Says the Damn Thing.
I am a qualified lawyer, but I took a different path.
While most stayed inside the firm walls, I walked straight into the chaos. Rail projects gone off-rail, energy contracts bleeding money, clients negotiating billion-pound deals with “standard form” protection.
What I learned:
Law is only useful if it survives pressure and most contracts don’t.
What I Do Now
I work with founders, CEOs and leadership teams running established businesses to find the silent liabilities and strategic gaps no one else is looking for.
This isn’t about being right in court. It’s about not ending up there.
Bragging Rights:
I have worked on some of the biggest projects, headhunted by the best companies to create governance frameworks, untangle chaos and fix the leaks in their legal infrastructures. I have:
Negotiated complex energy and infrastructure contracts
Advised on major international trade and project agreements
Work on Crossrail, HS2 and the Northern Line Extension
Served as a non-executive director since my mid 20s
Built and sold businesses across multiple jurisdictions
Won numerous awards such as Top100 Woman in Construction
I have lived and worked in Asia, Africa, Europe and the Caribbean
How I Work
I work as a Fractional General Counsel focusing on quality rather than being volume-driven. A lot of my clients are high net worth family businesses turning over £5m+. Working with a small number of clients allow:
Deep understanding of their businesses
Direct access to senior legal judgment
No multiple layers of junior lawyers, doing unsupervised work
No legal theatre
The Goal is Simple
Protect the Business.
Strengthen decision-making.
And ensure the legal foundations of the company are built properly.
